Don't throw out your unhealthy food!

If you're trying to lose weight or just get healthy you may not need to throw out the old unhealthy food.

Weight Loss-Hypnosis-Phoenix

In fact doing so may be the surest way to sabotage yourself. What if you could continue to eat all the foods you love and still create a healthier more active lifestyle. You can! And I'm not talking about taking pills, potions, or magical elixers.) Don't believe me? Read on...

The other day there was a very heavy set couple in front of me in the grocery checkout. There bill came out to a little over one hundred dollars and what I found incredible was there was no ‘real’ food whatsoever in their cart except for a half dozen of eggs. A half dozen?! For two people:!? (I at the time had two dozen eggs in my basket, just for me. I eat eggs every day and by the way my cholesterol has never been better.

There was diet coke of course, assorted bags and bundles of cookies, chips, along with a bunch of frozen meals. While I was momentarily shocked at the assortment on the conveyor belt before me I quickly reminded myself that it wasn’t that long ago that I would have had a similar assortment.

I was especially fond of the frozen meals and frozen pizza. Whenever either was on sale I’d stock up. And with the meals especially I reasoned that I couldn’t even cook myself something that inexpensively and with the meals I convinced myself it was a somewhat healthy choice because there was a small compartment of vegetable - very small compartment. And of course they are quick and easy to prepare. You see I really didn’t feel that I had the time or energy to prepare home-made food. Remember, I was working part time after all.

Lost Weight-Hypnosis

If you’re familiar with my work you may already know that it was only a few years ago that I weighed 270 lbs., never exercised, was underemployed, and living in an attic apartment in North Seattle.

By utilizing hypnosis and other techniques and strategies I lost 70 lbs, began working with hypnotherapy clients full time and in fact have now helped thousands of people to lose weight, quit smoking, release stress, and make numerous other monumental changes in their life. Oh yeah and I recently moved to Phoenix, AZ because I was sick of the rain.

There were two things that I did in modifying my food habits very early on. The first was that I simply began adding more fruits and vegetables to what I was already eating. I know I’ve mentioned this many times so bear with me if you’ve heard it before.

In other words I kept eating junk food, fast food, frozen pizzas and meals, canned foods, and other pre-made pre-packaged crap foods even while I was working to change my life and become healthier. You see I’d tried to give up my favorite foods before and I quickly gave up. This time I simply added to healthy food in along with the unhealthy stuff. I gave myself permission to continue eating whatever I wanted just as long as I ate a minimum amount of fruits and vegetables which started at just one each per day which I gradually increased. Before this I very seldom ate any fruits or vegetables that weren't fried or baked in a pie.

It was so much less challenging because I didn’t feel like I was depriving myself of anything. And as I’ve often written, and talked about – now I don’t even miss most of those old unhealthy foods. They have slowly and steadily simply drifted away from my awareness and freezer.

The next thing I did… will have to wait until next time because my time on the exercise bike is just about up :)
