Thanksgiving, Nostalgia, and Thank YOU!

We here in the United States just celebrated Thanksgiving. The name pretty much explains the meaning of the Holiday though it seems to be deteriorating into a kind of mega shopping day for some.

I can still remember having to go down to 7 Eleven on Thanksgiving because someone had forgotten to buy cranberry sauce and there was nothing else open. Amazingly they had it! There was something kind of cool about driving somewhere and being one of only a few cars on the road. Maybe too a sense of solidarity with my fellow countrymen and women who were mostly all sharing in the same experience – shared time with family and friends around a table of bounty.

I realize not everyone was sharing in this time of bounty and togetherness. Many emergency personnel, military members, and the guy at 7 Eleven weren’t able to experience it completely. And of course many economically disadvantaged people did and do miss out. which is hopefully something that we are mindful of and perhaps try to help.

I really miss that feeling – that solidarity.

Nostalgia aside this is a time when we are often called on to reflect on what we are thankful and grateful for. I have so much to be grateful right here as I write these words. One thing that I am grateful for is YOU. Whoever you are, wherever you, for taking the time to read these words – thank you! And to the thousands of people that have given me the opportunity to work with them as a hypnotherapist and life coach and to all of the audience members at my Comedy Hypnosis Shows and the people who book me to perform it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You have given me the gift of being able to live a life I dreamed about but at times thought was impossible. .

This past year has been a challenge – moving to Phoenix from Seattle and in so doing leaving behind family and friends, a very busy hypnotherapy schedule, and my entertainment contacts in the Northwest.

Thankfully I made some great connections relatively quickly upon my arrival in Phoenix and also was invited to join an amazing integrative health practice at North Mountain Cardio.

I’ve had to try a lot of different approaches to rebuild my hypnotherapy practice and entertainment connections but it has become steadily better and better. And now I’ve just been invited to be a presenter at the ‘Effective Goal Setting 2015 with Kal Jurdi Workshop’ on December 4th. My first speaking engagement of this sort in Phoenix.
