Not just 'sometimes' š. There's a community/street paper here in the Seattle area called Real Change News. You'll see the vendors, many of whom are homeless or otherwise disadvantaged, all over town selling the papers. I oftentimes see them outside of grocery stores. I think that buying one is a great way to help another person, and really the community at large. It's so disheartening to see the vast majority of people just walking by without even a glace, let alone a purchase - even at Trader Joe's šÆ. Aren't us TJ shoppers supposed to be like 'woke' and stuffā š Here's a couple of ideas to overcome the reasons why you may not be helping (buying a paper) - āŖNo cash on you - They now take Venmo! š² āŖYou don't want to read it. Don't then š. ā«You could just make a donation. ā«Buy it and leave it at work, the coffee shop, etc. ā«You could give it to a friend. ā«You could save it to wrap a gift for a friend or colleague. When they see the paper they'll think you're 'woke'. š āŖ You're broke - Maybe just a glace at the vendor and a friendly hello. š āŖ You just don't give a sh!t. I'm sad for you, I wouldn't want to live in your world. š 'We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone.' - Ronald Reagan * Regarding the meme - I personally believe that we should still be kind and perhaps even give to those that DO beg as well š.Ā
